If you want to generate the most out of your internet, make use of server hosting. This is another facet of the internet where an online system offers clients a space for storing information, images, video or any of their business content. The online system manages this space for their customers. They also render internet connection located in their own data centers, as well as, those they do not own.
Server Hosting is not only the placement of several files on the website but it also serves as the business connection between the internet service and their clients. It provides continuous access to the internet, an unlimited provision for ads or advertisements and fast and reliable service.
There are two types of server hosting:
1.    Shared hosting is one where a number of websites shared the same space. Most of the small and medium sized sites shared the same space and IP address.
Advantages:

  • the cost is minimal and
  • it is free if you display other ads on your space
  • Disadvantages:

  • you do not know the other occupants in your space and
  • you have no control over the server.
  • 2.    Dedicated server hosting is not shared with others but only for exclusive use of  the client. Large and busy sites manage their own server and IP address.
    Advantages:

  • you have full control over your server;
  • you have more traffic load,
  • the set-up is easier and
  • no risk of band width penalty.
  • Disadvantage: It is more expensive than shared hosting.
    There is a continuous debate whether to use shared hosting or dedicated server hosting. Which ever type you choose depends upon your needs and the services you want to enjoy. Whether, it is shared hosting or Dedicated server hosting, you need to evaluate carefully before signing the account.
